I'll have something new for you soon! I had a backlog of finished books on my desk, and this is the last of them. Two newly finished nonfiction!
Love Untamed: Romances of the Old West was a series of short vignettes on famous Western romances. Emphasis on the 'short'. I didn't find it inspiring, and the authors themselves admitted their source material was a bit sketchy. Not a keeper.
The other book, Testament: A Soldier's Story of the Civil War, was much better. The first half is a narrative account of the author's ancestor's experiences during the war, and the second part is the recovered letters of the ancestor. It isn't the best Civil War narrative I've read, but definitely a solid addition, and with a more Western-theatre-of-the-war focus than most.
