Today, I list things off because I genuinely am happy ... instead of, as on so many Mondays, needing to list off things to make me so!
1. Getting back to writing. Paralyzed by fear of failure (or fear of sucking, if there's a difference), I often forget how much I actually enjoy writing, looking on it as more of a chore. But once you get that rhythm going, it's a lot of fun to lose yourself in the story that your mind's eye is watching.
2. Quiet days. Today, nothing was scheduled but preschool pick-up and drop-off. So the rest of the day I could just catch up, do some reading, watch some TV, play with the kids—no rushing around and then trying to give my list a lick and a promise in the weary late afternoon.
3. Good TV. Tonight's TiVoed episode of CSI was a good one, I thought (even if it did have one of Lou's least favorite plot devices), and I also watched parts of two History Channel specials and one of my favorite Sex and the City episodes. It's easy to forget, since TV-bashing is so popular, that television can be an art form.
4. Snuggles. I got good, high-quality snuggles from everyone in the house today (well, except the dog!). Such a recharge!
5. Rain. I love cool, wet nights, the sound of rain hitting the roof, and the whoosh of a car going past on a wet road.
