One thing that I have noticed recently - as I work toward getting involved in both schools, I have a certain level of anxiety before each group interaction. But that anxiety is much higher in the more unfamiliar environment of the preschool. So the heightened anxiety I feel before a preschool meeting contrasts sharply enough with my lower anxiety toward the elementary school meeting and makes the elementary school meetings something to look forward to by comparison. So despite giving me more to be anxious about, the experience of moving to a new preschool has been a net positive in the arena of my social confidence.
