Now, don't get me wrong: I rejoice that we've made it all the way to February without any major illnesses getting in the way of our regularly scheduled activities. With three kids all involved in various things, that's little short of miraculous.
But 5 days into February, the crud has struck. Poor little Charles is down with a nasty cough and a case of listlessness. He even took the initiative to cancel his playdate this morning! (With a brand-new friend, too, who may or may not be sensitive enough to wonder if he's really that sick, especially since he was in school yesterday. Hopefully they'll take it in stride, since they have three kids in their family as well.) The rest of us have an occasional cough as well. Personally, I'm intending to push through and triumph with mind over matter, since I don't think there's a moment free for me to go to bed and be sick until sometime in March!
