Baby girl has decided to let me know she's really here. Heartburn has arrived, oh, joy. It's not as bad as it will be, but still—sucks to know that no matter what you eat (or don't eat), it's all coming back up later as acid. Last night I tried rolling over in bed, only to discover that my hips have started separating. Perfectly normal, but it makes rolling over an excruciating experience. It's "shift to the left"; pause; "shift to the left"; pause; "on your back"; pause ... you get the picture. I move about an inch at a time, and if you consider my ever-expanding girth ... it takes a while. With, of course, the lovely snap, crackle, pop of the vertebrae as a musical accompaniment. And, finally, little girl has become large and strong. She is kicking quite a bit. Last night, she felt like a herd of cows running back and forth in there. And where's her favorite spot to kick? Well, of course, my bladder. 'Cause, OUCH! Then there's the lower back pain, which has been pretty much constant today. The pain in the sciatic nerves (both of them) that makes even sitting something of a chore. And the hip separation actually causes pain while walking. And I have at least 12 WEEKS left to go! Yikes!
On the bright side, I did finish rearranging the attic and have all the boxes of baby clothes (except two that the big man around the house needs to help me with) downstairs and sorted through. One thing off my meta-to-do list!
