sweet sleepers

There's something about that last peek in at my sleeping boys every night that is so soothing. It's a reminder to me how much I love them, how good they are despite whatever may have happened during the day, and really how lucky I am to be blessed with two such healthy, happy little guys. And for me, just the peace of both of them fast asleep is a nice cap to the day. It's a moment of resetting my thoughts, moving them toward sleeping myself. An "all's right with the world" kind of moment. If they can be there, sleeping, how bad can anything else really be? Helps me let go of some of the trivial details that I obsess over during the rest of my day.

It's also interesting to see how they sleep. Greyson is usually sprawled across his bed, looking like he was going full-tilt and suddenly, bam! Fell asleep. Charles used to sleep curled up on his stomach, with his little bottom up in the air (SO adorable!), and always looked like he was working hard at sleeping. Such a serious little face. But somewhere in the last couple of months he's relaxed a little. So now he often sleeps on his back, arms flung over his head, and a little smile on his face, like he's really resting after a hard day of growing up.
