Friday night lights

(Actually, I don't watch the show, although I hear that I should, and probably will Netflix it at some point.) For now, however, I'm looking around at the lights in my house and how they are illuminated.

In front of me is a little girl on her knees building an elaborate Lego tower while watching Batman: The Brave and the Bold. The track lights in the ceiling shine down on her, catching the highlights in her dark hair.

The blue room contains two boys avidly playing Lego Batman on the Wii. (Yes, there's a theme around here.) They're bouncing up and down on the couch having a great time. In that room, there's a standing lamp bouncing its light off the ceiling ... and of course all the multicolored lights from the Christmas tree that I really need to take down eventually!

Downstairs, lots of work lights shine on a very sick and tired guy hard at work hanging drywall.

Meanwhile, the house lights shine across the snow into the back yard. No animals are around tonight, although recently a fox and an opossum both came up near the house, even with the outside lights on. And in the front yard, the floodlights wait for the pizza delivery guy and the reindeer, candy canes, and snowmen try their best to shine through the deep snow cover they're buried under - those things are likely to be out there until March again, unless we get a really big thaw!

A medallion light with leaves on its edges is hanging over my computer, as I sit here typing a blog entry ...
